October 13, 2007 - Antique Tractor and Engine Show

For those of you who have never visited Nash Ranch in October, even the drive is an adventure! As soon as you make the turn off Old Oregon Trail, the ½ mile or so of dirt road (well watered, so you don't get dusted) winds you back through the beautiful countryside, past sheep and even a llama or two, over the creek, and past stunning vistas of Mt. Shasta, newly blanketed with snow. The anticipation mounts until you round the last bend, to find a huge cornfield turned into a maze for the season, and plenty of pumpkins and people and fun. Each October, the members of Nor-Cal Antique Tractor and Engine Club bring their tractors and engines to Nash Ranch for a weekend, making them available for folks to enjoy. We were invited to bring some of our new tractors to show as well, and as always, were glad for the opportunity! We had a beautiful sunny day, capped off with a delicious BBQ and potluck dinner. Next October, if you're in the neighborhood, come on by and say hello! Be sure and bring the kids to pick out a pumpkin and go for a hayride while you're at it.
