Antique Tractor and Engine Show - April, 2007
Although nothing beats the modern tractor for its ease of operation and versatility, many of us have fond memories of Grandpa's old tractor back on the farm, and sometimes we long for those good ol' days! The Nor-Cal Antique Tractor and Engine Club is dedicated to the collection, restoration and display of antique farm tractors, gas engines, and related implements. And they have a lot of fun while they're at it! Pictured to the left: Rob on a Branson 4720, giving that Farmall a sled ride at the Tractor Pull!
After being invited to display some of our new tractors at last year's show in Red Bluff, and meeting the great folks who are members of the Antique Tractor Club, we decided to become members ourselves! So April 27-29 found the Dave Siemens family, General Manager Rob McFarlen, and a group of interested family and friends enjoying the Antique Tractor Show on a beautiful sunny day at Ridgeway Park, just outside of Red Bluff. We brought down a few tractors ourselves, both old and new, and had a great time visiting throughout the day with folks who really know and love tractors!
Of course, our guys are always up for a good competition, and managed to perfectly balance both a new Mahindra 1815 and our own antique John Deere Model D on the giant "Tractor Teeter Totter" (You ought to try it…it's harder than it looks!) Our Branson 4720 also flexed its muscles at the old fashioned Tractor Pull and did not disappoint us! Pictured to the right: Rob McFarlen, Dave Siemens, Lee Siemens.
We're already looking forward to the next Antique Tractor show the weekend of October 13-14 at Nash Ranch in Redding, California. As always, we'd love to see you there! And after you've taken a walk down Tractor Memory Lane, come and check out the shiny new red tractors and say "hello"!
